Kitchen & Bathroom Drain Clearing

Serving Brantford, Niagara, Hamilton, Thorold, Welland and Woodstock. Slow or blocked sinks, tubs and toilets, the individual-fixture problems, not a main sewer line issue.

Not every clog is a sewer line problem

A single slow drain (just the kitchen sink, just one bathroom) is usually a localized blockage in that fixture's own line, not the main sewer line the rest of the house shares. Grease and food buildup in a kitchen line, hair and soap scum in a bathroom line: different cause, different fix, and usually a much smaller job than a main-line rooter service.

Kitchen sink and under-sink work

Grease buildup is the most common kitchen-drain cause, and it accumulates gradually, coating the inside of the pipe until the opening narrows to almost nothing. Under-sink P-traps corrode and crack over time too, particularly older ABS fittings, and a failing trap is a leak waiting to happen, not just a clog.

Bathroom sinks, tubs and toilets

Hair and soap scum are the classic bathroom-drain culprits, building up in the trap and slowly narrowing flow until a sink or tub drains noticeably slower than it used to. A toilet that's chronically slow to clear, rather than a one-off clog, often points to something further down the line rather than the bowl itself.

Common questions

Is my kitchen sink clog related to my main sewer line?

Usually not: if only one fixture is affected, the problem is almost always local to that fixture's own line, not the shared main line. Multiple fixtures backing up together is the sign of a bigger, main-line issue.

Should I use a store-bought drain cleaner first?

Chemical drain cleaners can damage older pipes, especially aging ABS fittings, and often don't clear the real blockage anyway. A proper clearing is usually faster and safer for the pipe.

Slow kitchen or bathroom drain? Usually a quick, contained fix.
