Drain Cleaning & Rooter Services

Serving Brantford, Niagara, Hamilton, Thorold, Welland and Woodstock. Rooter service, hydro-jetting and camera inspection for drains and sewer lines that are slow, blocked, or backing up.

What "rooter service" actually means

The name comes from tree roots, the original cause of most sewer line blockages, cut back by a motorized cable and blade run down the line. The term has stuck, and today it covers clearing a drain or sewer line by any mechanical method: a cable machine (an auger) cutting through roots, grease, and buildup, or a hydro-jetter using high-pressure water to scour the full inside of the pipe rather than just punching a hole through the clog. We run whichever the line actually needs, not whichever is cheaper to show up with.

Cabling or hydro-jetting?

A cable machine is the right call for a straightforward blockage: roots, a solid obstruction, a line that just needs to run again today. Hydro-jetting, up to 4,000 PSI, is the better call when grease, scale, or sediment has built up along the pipe walls rather than one distinct clog: cabling punches through the middle and the buildup on the walls stays put, which is why the same drain keeps backing up every few months. Jetting clears the full diameter of the pipe, not just a path through it.

Why we run a camera after clearing the line

Clearing a blockage tells you the line runs again. It doesn't tell you why it blocked in the first place, or whether it's about to do it again. A CCTV camera run down the line after clearing shows the actual condition of the pipe: a cracked joint, a bellied section holding water, root intrusion starting back up, all recorded rather than guessed at. If the camera shows a structural problem, that's a different conversation than a routine cleaning, and you'll see the footage either way.

Common questions

Is rooter service the same as drain cleaning?

Yes, rooter service is the mechanical drain and sewer line clearing method, whether by cable or by hydro-jetting. It's the same service listed as drain cleaning above, just the older industry name for it.

How do I know if I need a rooter service or a full sewer line repair?

A rooter service resolves a blockage. If the same drain backs up again within a few months, or the camera inspection turns up a cracked or bellied section of pipe, that's a repair conversation, not another cleaning, and we'll tell you plainly which one you're looking at.

Do you offer emergency drain service?

Yes, 24/7 across Brantford, Niagara, Hamilton, Thorold and Welland, for backed-up drains and sewer lines that can't wait.
